Proton presents 1080p and 1080i 42, 47 and 55-inch LCD TVs
Proton Electronic Industrial will introduce a series of HD (high definition) LCD TVs from its Puriti line at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) (January 5-8) in Las Vegas, covering the 37-, 42-, 47- and 55-inch segments.
The 55-, 47- and 42-inch (LX- 42A6C2B) LCD TVs support 1080p as well as 1080i resolutions. All three are equipped with ATSC and NTSC tuners and feature viewing angles of 176 degrees.
Proton’s other new Puriti TVs include a 37-inch (LX-37A6C2B) model with a suggested price of US$2,799 as well as a 32-inch (LC-32B6C2B) model. The two models both offer a 16:9 aspect ratio and resolution formats of 480i, 480p, 1080i and 720p.
Proton’s 55-inch and 47-inch LCD TVs will be available in the second quarter of 2006, and the 42-inch model will hit the market in the first quarter. All of the new products will be available from authorized Proton dealers, though prices have yet to be determined.
