The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will debut on the 5th January 2005 in Las Vegas. We will report the product announcements of various manufacturers here. Bill Gates will present his keynote speech on Wednesday January 4th in Las Vegas Hilton Hotel.
Bill Gates returns to kick off the 2006 International CES with his vision of the year ahead in consumer electronics. If the past is anything like the future, expect the unexpected. Gates has used the International CES to showcase new products like the Xbox, Tablet PC and Smartphone. Under Gates’ guidance, Microsoft continues its stronghold as the worldwide leader in consumer electronics through the design of groundbreaking technologies that lead to innovation in every aspect of human endeavor.

SpatiaLight Inc., a manufacturer of liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS) microdisplays, announced that LG Electronics has introduced its 2006 high definition television (HDTV) product lineup highlighted in the above 50-inch category by two LCoS models using SpatiaLight’s microdisplays.

We already know that it is coming sooner than later. A quarter of the US will have HD-TV by the end of 2006 according to a survey by Panasonic. 2006 is World Cup year. More people will have access to HDTV (in pubs for example) and more people (men) will want a HDTV set at home. The next Super Bowl in February 2006 will also boost sales. Without a doubt.
